In view of recent COVID-19 circumstances, the MobiCom organising committee has decided to postpone the conference to January 31 through February 4, 2022, with plans to hold it then in person with the option of hybrid attendance. MobiCom 2021 will be held at the hotel Royal Sonesta. It is in the heart of the New Orleans French Quarter on world-famous Bourbon street. The hotel has numerous on-site dining and entertainment venues, such as Restaurant R’evolution, PJ’s Coffee Cafe, Desire Oyster Bar, The Jazz Playhouse, and Le Booze.
How to arrive
Driving
The French Quarter is mostly one-way narrow streets. Vehicular traffic on Bourbon Street is stopped nightly at dusk allowing pedestrians more space to explore. Some trucks, buses and mini coaches are encourage to check ahead for alternate driving directions to accommodate your larger vehicle in the French Quarter.
When Bourbon Street is closed, easy entry to the hotel is by way of the hotel’s underground Parking Garage located at 700 Conti Street or 700 Bienville Street (located between Royal and Bourbon Streets). The lower lobby is located on this level and leads to the main lobby.

The New Orleans Airport Shuttle drops off at the hotel’s Conti Street entrance, 737 Conti Street.
Directions to the hotel on I-10 East:
Traveling from the Airport on I-10 East follow the signs to the New Orleans Business District and continue to follow 1-10 East toward Slidell. The Hotel may be reached from I-10 East by exiting on the Orleans Avenue/Vieux Carre exit. Orleans Avenue becomes Basin Street as it curves toward the French Quarter. Make a left turn from Basin Street onto Conti Street Follow Conti Street into the French Quarter. The entrance to the hotel’s garage is located on the right immediately after crossing Bourbon Street. The Parking Garage is located at 700 Conti Street.
Directions to the hotel on I-10 West:
The Hotel may be reached from I-10 West by exiting on the Orleans Avenue/Vieux Carre exit and turning left. Orleans Avenue becomes Basin Street as it curves toward the French Quarter. Make a left turn from Basin Street onto Conti Street Follow Conti Street into the French Quarter. The entrance to the hotel garage is located on the right immediately after crossing Bourbon Street. The Parking Garage is located at 700 Conti Street.
Taxi Cubs
Taxi Cabs are available at the New Orleans International Airport on the lower level outside of Baggage Claim. Current rates are $36.00 for one or two persons and $15.00 per passenger for three or more people, each way. There may be additional charges for extra baggage. Ask the driver to deliver you to the Limousine Zone in our garage (only necessary after 5:00p.m.). Helpful hints: Have the cab driver write his cab number on your receipt, just in case something is left in the taxi.
Uber & Lyft
Helpful hint: Use 300 Bourbon Street address, but after hours use 700 Conti or 700 Bienville Street address for access to our lower lobby.
Airport Shuttle
Current rates are $24 one way and $44 round trip per person. Three bags per person. Airport Shuttle is the Official Ground Transportation Provider for the New Orleans International Airport. Service from the Airport is available on a continuous basis with vehicles departing approximately every 30 minutes to area Hotels (multiple stops).
